Gardenalia Design Assistant Job Description:
The design assistant will work with the Landscape Architect to produce mainly residential landscape and garden designs. This job has flexible hours with the ability to work independently and may include the opportunity to work on a landscape crew. The duties include precise measuring of properties and creating scaled architectural drawings, elevations and sections, if needed. In addition, it includes assisting in the production of materials for design presentation. Plant placement on site at the time of installation will be required as well.
Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The candidate must:
Have an educational background in landscape design, such as landscape architecture, or other landscape design certification.
Demonstrate the ability to precisely measure a residential property and produce an architectural drawing to scale within a reasonable time frame with good graphic design skills.
Be familiar with the Western Pennsylvania landscape palette of trees, shrubs and perennials, their ideal growing conditions and design qualities.
Have the ability to work flexible hours.
Have the ability to work outside in inclement weather with the landscape crew in order to place plants on site according to the landscape plan specifications.

Pay
This is a part time job paying $12-20 per hour based on experience and skill, with flexible hours.
