Over the course of 15 years of creative endeavor, Bill Baird has won praise for his adventurous sonic sensibilities, his albums, and more recently, his interactive multimedia installations.

His newest album, Owl, released through Dangerbird Records, shows Baird combining his songwriting, painterly sonic landscapes, and installation work into a multimedia labor of love. The album and its accompanying videos received glowing reviews from Billboard, NPR and numerous other outlets.

Baird’s previous albums have been featured on the BBC, MTV, and NPR, with 2015's Earth into Aether named Rough Trade's album of the month. He has released music through Super Deluxe, Capitol, Parlophone, St. Ives/Secretly Canadian, Moon Glyph, Curly Cassettes, and other small labels, as well as a few independent films.

Recent installations include commissions from the Waller Creek Foundation in Austin, TX and Luminaria Festival in San Antonio, TX; and installations at Fort Mason Center for the Arts, California Academy of Sciences, Soundwaves Festival, and the Museum of Human Achievement in Texas.

He earned an MFA from Mills College, where he worked closely with Pauline Oliveros. While at Mills, he worked as teaching assistant and subsequently received the Frog Peak Experimental Music Prize. After completing his education, he was named artist-in-residence with the Paul Dresher Ensemble, where he wrote a large-scale multimedia worked which premiered at the 2015 Switchboard Music Festival.
